The mission of Pitt County Historical Society is to preserve and educate the public about the history of our community.


To become a member of Pitt County Historical Society, simply fill out our online membership application and pay the annual membership fee.


Pitt County Historical Society hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including lectures, tours, and special exhibits. Check our events calendar for upcoming events.


Unfortunately, no. We are a small board and not dedicated genealogists. If you are researching members of your family,  please our publication:

  • The Chronicles of Pitt County I and II highlight different figures in Pitt County history, but we cannot guarantee any specific individuals are in it
